Body uses "only N hours remaining" / "last X days left" pressure — FOMO scam fingerprint

body-urgency-countdown

What this tier means

Warning signal — bulk / marketing / mild spam. Contributes to the trash score but is not by itself sufficient.

How Gorganizer detects this

The body contains a pressure-countdown phrase — "only 3 hours remaining", "just 2 days left", "last 5 minutes to claim". Spam and phishing use this to create FOMO (fear of missing out) and push the victim to act before thinking. The detection deliberately requires an `only`/`just`/`last` pressure modifier to distinguish from neutral transactional countdowns: "Your password reset link expires in 1 hour" is legit and does NOT fire, but "ONLY 1 hour remaining to reset your password!" does. The modifier is the key — legitimate transactional emails use neutral time phrases because they trust the user to act at a reasonable pace, while scam emails need to manufacture urgency to bypass the user's skepticism. An alternative pattern matches explicit "countdown to" / "countdown until" / "countdown expires" phrasing. Weight: +3, moderate. Combines with other signals (subject urgency-bait, prize language, unfamiliar sender) rather than solo-triggering.

False-positive guard

Every signal in Gorganizer feeds a multi-module score — never a sole verdict. This is a warning-tier signal — bulk / marketing / mild spam. It contributes to the trash score but never triggers deletion on its own. Gorganizer requires multiple signals + a margin over the safety floor before any email is moved to trash.

About the scoring engine

Gorganizer's scoring engine emits over 1,800 signals across six modules — headers, sender, subject, body, attachments, and structural metadata. Every email is scored by every module independently; the final verdict requires multiple modules to agree and the trash score to beat the safety floor by a margin.

Sacred safety guards — never delete starred emails, replies, calendar invites, receipts/invoices, or attachments — apply unconditionally regardless of any signal.
