Fake IRS tax debt collection scam — outstanding tax liability + federal arrest warrant + pay via gift cards / wire transfer / prepaid debit card to avoid prosecution

What this tier means
High-confidence threat indicator — phishing, impersonation, BEC, or scam pattern. Strong contributor to the trash decision.
How Gorganizer detects this
Email impersonating the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or a "tax collection agency" claiming the recipient has an outstanding tax liability, back taxes, or a criminal tax fraud case — then threatening arrest, wage seizure, or bank account levy unless immediate payment is made via iTunes gift cards, Google Play cards, wire transfer, or prepaid debit cards. The IRS only contacts taxpayers via US mail (never unsolicited email), never threatens immediate arrest for tax debt, and never accepts gift cards as payment. FBI IC3 2024: IRS impersonation scams reported 26,000+ complaints with $96M in losses; the IRS publishes a "Dirty Dozen" scams list each year listing phone/email impersonation as the perennial #1 threat. Hallmarks include fake case numbers, threats of "local law enforcement dispatch," and demands to "call our tax resolution specialist" within hours.
False-positive guard
Every signal in Gorganizer feeds a multi-module score — never a sole verdict. This is a threat-tier signal — it adds a strong contribution to the trash score. The full pipeline still requires convergence across multiple modules + a margin over the safety floor before deletion happens, and Gmail's trash (30-day recovery) is always used — never permanent delete.
About the scoring engine
Gorganizer's scoring engine emits 2,143+ signals across six modules — headers, sender, subject, body, attachments, and structural metadata. Every email is scored by every module independently; the final verdict requires multiple modules to agree and the trash score to beat the safety floor by a margin.
Sacred safety guards — never delete starred emails, replies, calendar invites, receipts/invoices, or attachments — apply unconditionally regardless of any signal.
